Lap Joint Flange
The lap joint flange gives you a practical and reliable connection solution for glass-lined equipment such as glass-lined reactors, storage tanks, piping, and tower sections. By allowing easier alignment and assembly at the nozzle connection point, the lap joint flange helps support safer installation and more convenient maintenance in corrosive process systems.
The lap joint flange, also known as a loose flange or backing flange, is widely used for piping connections in glass-lined systems.
Available materials include cast steel, carbon steel, forged carbon steel, and stainless steel. Material selection can be made according to the process media, temperature, and pressure requirements.
The lap joint flange can be manufactured according to HG/T 2105, ANSI B16.5, JIS 5K / 10K, and DIN2573 / 2572 standards.
Typical connection ratings include PN6, PN10, and PN16.
- Two-Piece Flange Structure
The lap joint flange consists of two split semicircular flange halves assembled into one complete unit. The lap joint flange is fitted around the lower section of the nozzle and used together with the matching flange at the connection point. - Position-Limiting Design for Easier Fastening
For cast versions, the lower part of the lap joint flange includes two positioning ribs, which help limit movement during bolt tightening and make installation more stable and convenient.
